For the first project, we were required to build an image library to use later on in the semester. The first assignment had us take photographs of 'texture'.
Image Library - Handmade
For the handmade portion of creating an image library, we used black paint on white paper as well as an assortment of objects to create handmade patterns and shapes.
Image Library - Pattern
Using Illustrator, we created different patterns using the different tools provided in the program and making sure it was a repeated image.
Image Library - Photomontage
The last portion of the image library collection is photomontages which were created in Photoshop. By using blending modes and images and pictures we created for the first three parts of this project, we created more images in the form of montages.
Poster - Fluid
The mid-term posters I created revolved around the theme 'Fluid', using the image library we built and the skills we learned during the first half of the semester.
Generative Image - Sequence
For this project, we created simple grids withe 4 sections to create a series of varying forms within that grid. From there, in a 5x5 grid, we chose a few of the varying forms and repeated them within the 5x5 grid.
Generative Image - Variable
In this step, using a dice as a decider, we added different variables to the original 5x5 grid that we chose to move forwards with. These variations include adding an image, adding white or black, and adding color.
Final Project - Systems Posters
Following the previous project, the final project for this class tasked us in creating a grid more complex than the simple ones we created before, curating a color palette, and again using a dice to decide where to add full blocks of color and where to add images.
